Community Speed Watch
Malton Town Council have set up a local Community SpeedWatch Group and operate in several areas of Malton and Norton. The Community Speedwatch Group are volunteers who take part in monitoring vehicle speeds in Malton and Norton.

Cllr Ian Conlan, Mayor of Malton, said "I'm pleased that our group has new volunteers and that we have been able to increase the number of patrols over the summer period. As well as being a visible reminder to motorists that speeding is not socially acceptable, when the group is accompanied by Special Constables then if necessary speeding tickets will be issued as a further deterrent."

For more information on Community Speedwatch and for details of how you can become a volunteer please contact Town Clerk by email: or clerk@malton-tc.gov.uk

Speeding Action
Malton Town Council are attempting to collate data on the streets and roads in our town where speeding vehicles are causing concerns for residents. Our aim is to use this information to create evidence for additional measures and extra policing to address this blight on our roads.

Report speeding and speed limit concerns in your area
Find out about speed limits, how to report a speeding complaint to the traffic bureau, and find out how we deal with your speed concerns. We work together with local authorities, emergency services and other North Yorkshire agencies as part of the York and North Yorkshire Road Safety Partnership to reduce injury, disability and death caused by road collisions in North Yorkshire.

We find out about speeding problems from members of the public, or from collision data we collect. You can find out more about how the York and North Yorkshire Road Safety Partnership identifies and deals with speed concerns on the Roadwise website. Please click on the link below:-
