COMMUNITY SAFETY

n an emergency, such as when a crime is in progress, someone suspected of a crime is nearby, when there is danger to life or when violence is being used or threatened – you should always call 999.

Malton Town Council also supports community safety in the following ways:

CCTV
We fund and maintain CCTV cameras throughout our town. This is part of a partnership with the registered charity Ryedale Cameras In Action. The cameras are monitored 24 hours a day from the control centre at Scarborough Borough Council which helps to link and support the emergency services when issues arise.

Emergency Plan
We maintain the town’s Community Emergency Plan

Multi-Agency Problem Solving
We are represented by the Town Clerk at the fortnightly Multi Agency Problem Solving meetings, to tackle the impacts of crime, alcohol, drugs and anti-social behaviour in our community.

The Ryedale Safer Neighbourhood Team is committed to keeping you updated on progress related to priorities in your local policing area, which they do in a number of ways, including regular updates on their local website pages. To get involved, find out more or to see forthcoming meeting dates please visit the North Yorkshire Police website for further information.
